Pakistan Titled as ‘Tech Destination of the Year’ at GITEX Global 2024 in Dubai

Pakistan is growing day by day in the information technology (IT) sector and finally has been titled “Tech Destination of the Year” at the 44th GITEX Global Technology event in Dubai, held on October 14 to 18, 2024. This recognition is a big achievement for Pakistan and shows the growing interest in the field of technology. 

Gitex Global Technology was the largest technology event in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA) and has become a prominent platform for discovering advanced innovations and the upcoming AI-driven economies. 

Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, said it’s the hard work and dedication of around 200 companies, startups, and industry professionals who participated in this global event, and finally their efforts and expertise showcased to the world how strong capabilities Pakistan has in the IT industry. 

Furthermore, she congratulated all the Pakistani firms that signed MoUs and made key partnerships with international tech industrials. “These collaborations show an important initiative forward for our IT industry, bring new opportunities to the IT market, and boost the country’s economy,” she added.

An important step in Pakistan’s development into a global digital hub has been taken with its recognition as the “Tech Destination of the Year.” With backing from the public and private sectors, Pakistan’s IT sector is well-positioned to keep growing, spurring innovation and economic expansion.
