Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo breaks new YouTube channel record

The much-awaited YouTube debut was made by Cristiano Ronaldo on Wednesday (August 21) with his channel named ‘UR · Cristiano’, and broke the record for fastest to 10 million subscribers in just 10 hours. 

Ronaldo announced on his social media handles, 

“The wait is over. My YouTube channel is finally here! Subscribe and join me on this new journey.” 

Hours after announcing the launch, Ronaldo added two more world records to his long list of records; one is that he became the fastest person to reach one million subscribers on the world’s largest video-sharing platform.

His second record followed almost instantly as, within 24 hours, his subscriber count soared to 10 million.

A couple of hours after posting his first video, 1.69 million subscribers had joined the channel.

It has now crossed over 15.4 million subscribers with at least 19 videos posted by the ace footballer on the platform.

He posted 19 short videos on the channel, including unveiling the ‘Gold Button’ video in front of his kids. YouTube presents ‘Gold Button’ to channels that reach one million subscribers. Channels with 10 million subscribers get the prestigious ‘Diamond Button’. With 12.4 million subscribers already, the ‘Diamond Button’ has also reached Ronaldo’s cabinet. 

He received all the three buttons back to back.
